Do you remember the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S2 in the USA? It was significantly delayed compared to the European release, and even when it reached the USA we got a very confused marketing message. This time, it looks like Samsung’s stepped up their game and will be making a good effort to get the Galaxy S3 smartphone available on all the major US carries within a very short space of time.
Which US Carriers Are Getting the Galaxy S3?
Samsung has published an official registration page where you can get notified when the Galaxy S3 comes to your carrier. The list of carriers who will be getting this smartphone includes all the names you might expect – some big and some small:
- C Spire Wireless
- Metro PCS
- US Cellular
Of course, different carriers will stock different versions of the device, depending on what frequencies & technology their network supports. We know for a fact there will be a 3G and 4G LTE version of the device. Some rumors are also indicating the Galaxy S3 model sold in the USA will have a different processor – perhaps sacrificing the quad-core processor for a Snapdragon S4 instead. So make sure you keep an eye on the packaging, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
When Will The Galaxy S3 Be Released In The USA?
At this stage we don’t have an exact release date for any of the US carriers who will be stocking the Galaxy S3. Current reports indicate it will be at least a month or two before the phone makes it to market, so expect June or July at the latest. We’re pretty sure at this stage the Galaxy S3 will not launch in May.
Having said that, check out the Galaxy S3 Pricing page for more info about where to buy the Samsung Galaxy S3 right now. Many of the shops listed on this page have stock arriving May 30th, so there’s a good chance you could have your phone arrive early June.
